Maoists blow up Railway Track in Rayagada, Train Services Hit

Rayagada, Jan 24: The Maoists blew up the railway track between Muniguda and Munikhol in Rayagada district late Friday night following which the train services were disrupted in the south Odisha.

The red rebels blasted the track twice in between 1.30 am and 4 am around 500 mtrs from Muniguda Railway Station and 100 mtrs from the CRPF camp.

Following the incident, police rushed to the spot along with a bomb disposal squad and sniffer dogs. The train services between Muniguda-Ambadola route has been hit due to crack on the track. Several trains are stalled and waiting for the signal. 

The incident came hours after the Maoists announced to observe January 26 as black day in five districts of South Odisha.
