Arrested ITR Cameraman sent to Judicial Custody

Balasore, Jan 24: Cameraman Iswar Behara, who was arrested yesterday on charges of spying for Pakistan intelligence agency ISI, was sent to judicial custody. He was working with the Integrated Test Range (ITR) at Chandipur as a contractual photographer.

He may be brought on remand by Balasore police for interrogation. He is accused of passing information about missile activities conducted here to ISI for the past 8-10 months. 

Iswar Behera hails from Baisinga in Mayurbhanj district. He had been working at the ITR since 2007. Police had suspected his activities.

Following the arrest, he confessed that he was in touch with the ISI agent and was providing very vital information to Pakistan spy agency.

He has been booked for treason and criminal conspiracy under various sections of IPC and Officials Secrets Act.
