Chandigarh, Jan 27: "Flying Sikh" Milkha Singh who put Indian athletes on the world map was in for a surprise when US President Barack Obama mentioned him while talking about Indian achievers.
Milkha was happy that the most powerful person on earth mentioned him in his speech addressing a Town hall like event at the Siri Fort Auditorium on the third and final day of his visit to India.
"I am happy that the biggest power of the world took the name of Milkha Singh, and took the name of Shah Rukh Khan and took the name of Mary Kom. This is not a small thing, but big thing", Milkha Singh, former athlete said
The former athlete also had the message for the young generation of the country.
"Mr. Obama came here and talked about our people, even the sports people should take an example and even the film people. And our kids should go ahead and in their respective field should take their country ahead", he said.
