Srinagar, Jan 28: A day after getting the gallantry medal on Republic Day, Army Colonel Munindra Nath Rai became the martyr fighting the terrorists in Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir yesterday. The army today bid a tearful adieu to the soldier in Srinagar.
He had never imagined that that the gallantry medal will be the last award to him during his life life.
The 39-year-old Colonel Rai was awarded on the 66th Republic Day. Barely after 24 hours, he showed his courage acting on the intelligence inputs and targeted the terrorists who were hiding in a house at a village in Tral in Pulwama in south Kashmir on Tuesday.
