Sony Likely to cut 1000 Jobs in Smartphone Sector after Loss

Tokyo, Jan 28: Japanese major Sony Corporation is likely to cut about 1000 jobs in its Smartphone sector as the company is facing huge loss. The jobs will be eliminated in its branches in Europe and China. This will be confirmed after the latest business results out on Feb 4.

According to reports, Sony may suffer 230 billion yen or USD 1.95 billion net loss in its mobile unit this fiscal year ending March next year.

Amidst high competition in the international market of Smartphone, Sony's business is reportedly weak and it is far behind Apple iPhones and Samsung mobiles and also the China smartphones.
