Nithari serial killings: Death Sentence of Koli commuted to Life

Noida, Jan 28: In a big development, Allahabad High Court on Wednesday commuted the death sentence of Surendra Koli, convict in Nithari serial killings, to life imprisonment.

Earlier, the convict had filed a mercy petition, which is pending with the President for three years.

Koli was convicted of killing children in Nithari of Noida in Uttar Pradesh. He was awarded the death sentence by a local court. Later, his sentence was upheld by the Allahabad High Court.
