Mary Kom invites PM Modi for Launch of Boxing Academy in Manipur

New Delhi, Jan 28: After getting a special acknowledgment in US President Barack Obama's speech yesterday, Olympian MC Mary Kom today met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and invited him to inaugurate her boxing academy in Manipur next month.

Mary, during the side-line of an event, had thanked both PM Modi and Barack Obama for appreciating her success and achievements.

In a special meet with the Prime Minister, Mary gifted him a copy of her autobiography "Unbreakable".  PM praised the pugilist for her achievements and how she motivated the girls of the country.

"Yeah it is a happy moment. I never believed that like as a sports person I was thinking that I am very small, not very popular. Even comparing with other sports persons and getting that much performance and that much achievement. But I am very thankful to our PM and Obama Sir for acknowledging all my performance and achievements. I really thank both of them," boxer Mary Kom said.
