Blame Game begins after Natarajan Disclosure about Niyamgiri Hills

Bhubaneswar, Jan 30: The blame game began in Odisha with the state BJP raised questions over the influence of Gandhis on the major projects and decisions during the UPA regime after senior Congress leader Jayanthi Natarajan resigned from the party today.

Former Union Minister Natarajan in a startling revelation said today that she was forced to reject some projects giving no clearance during her tenure as the environment minister. She revealed that she was following the directives of Rahul Gandhi and rejected the application of Vedanta Aluminum for the environment clearance for bauxite mining in the Niyamgiri hills in Odisha.

Reacting to the statement, Odisha BJP said that the former union minister has exposed the Congress with this revelation. This showed that Congress President Sonia Gandhi and vice president Rahul Gandhi were influencing the decisions taken by the cabinet.

Defending the party, Congress said that Natarajan made this statement under pressure of BJP at the Centre.
