Odisha Cabinet approves 12 Proposals, gives Nod to Bhubaneswar Land Grant Policy

Bhubaneswar, Jan 31: The Odisha cabinet that met on Saturday approved 12 proposals including the much awaited Bhubaneswar Land Grant Policy 2015.

The meeting chaired by chief minister Naveen Patnaik also approved proposal Odisha State Prosecution Services Rules amendment, upper Indravati irrigation project, proposal for Open University in Sambalpur, and several pro-farmers proposals including to set up corpus fund of Rs. 100 crore for fertilizer for the farmers in Odisha.

After the irregularities of government land and houses under discretionary quota (DQ) came to fore, for the first time, the government woke up from the slumber by approving the Land Grant Policy 2015. This will stop the massive irregularities in the allotment of BDA plots, land and houses to influential people under discretionary quota.

With the cabinet nod to this significant policy, the government land in the state capital will be allotted through auction.
