PM Modi to visit China in May

New Delhi, Feb 02: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will make his maiden visit to neighbouring China in May this year. He will also visit Kailash Mansarovar through the route that will be opened and repaired by Chinese government as part of the agreements signed during President Xi Jinping's India trip in last September.

External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj, who is on a four-day visit to China, confirmed the decision. She will meet Chinese President Xi Jinping on Monday. She held bilateral talks with her Chinese counterpart Wang Yi about several regional and global issues related to two nations.

Her visit to China comes four days after US President Barack Obama was on a three-day trip to India to attend the 66th Republic Day on January 26 as the chief guest.
