Ganga Water to be brought to Deoghar in Jharkhand

Ranchi, Feb 03: In an ongoing Ganga project initiated by the Centre, Union Minister for Water Resources Uma Bharti said that the holy Ganga River water would be available for people in Deoghar in Jharkhand both for irrigation and spiritual purposes.

Bharti, who visited Jharkhand on Monday, said that she will hold a meeting with the chief minister Raghubar Das on Tuesday to discuss the Ganga project for cleaning the river.

She said that the plan to bring Ganga water from Sahebganj to Deoghar will be discussed at the meeting. They will execute the project in such a manner that people of that region will get double benefits. The project will fulfill the spiritual and irrigation needs of the people.
