Setback to Mamata as Srinjoy Bose resigns from TMC, Rajya Sabha

Kolkata, Feb 05: TMC MP Srinjoy Bose on Thursday quit the party and Rajya Sabha seat a day after getting bail in the multi-crore Saradha chit fund scam. His resignation could be termed as a big jolt to West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.

Bose is accused of making business deal between Bengali daily Sambad Pratidin that is owned by him and the Channel 10, owned by Saradha Group main accused Sudipta Sen. Sen allegedly had paid Rs 60 lakh to the newspaper for over one and half years.

Bose was granted bail on Wednesday after spending three months in jail following his arrest by CBI in November.
