HC rejects PIL on Sunanda Pushkar Death Case

New Delhi, Feb 11: The Delhi High Court on Wednesday rejected a PIL seeking its intervention in the probe into the death of Sunanda Pushkar case. The court observed that the plea was not Public Interest Litigation but publicity interest litigation.

A bench of chief Justice G Rohini and Justice Rajiv Sahai rejected the plea saying that it cannot accept the PIL as the FIR has already been registered and investigation is carried out by the SIT formed by the Delhi police in Sunanda Pushkar death case.

The hearing came after the PIL was opposed by additional solicitor general Sanjay Jain. The PIL sought the court's intervention alleging that SIT, which is probing the case, is biased.

The SIT constituted by the Delhi police has already interrogated Shashi Tharoor, Congress MP and Sunanda's husband, Sunanda's son and two journalists in the case so far. The team has been digging out the truth to come but nothing could be said at this stage.
