Patna, Feb 12: Bihar Governor KN Tripathi has given the current chief minister Jitan Ram Manjhi nine days to prove his majority in the state assembly. This decision has annoyed former chief minister Nitish Kumar, who alleged that granting more time to Majhi will trigger horse-trading of the legislators.
Manjhi has been asked to prove his majority in the House on Feb 20.
Nitish was demanding an immediate floor test to show the strength to form the government. However, the Governor's decision will delay his attempt to come to power in the state.
The JD(U) leader yesterday evening had claimed the majority before the President Pranab Mukherjee parading 128 MLAs at the Rashtrapati Bhawan.
However, his entire attempt to oust Manjhi with immediate effect went in vain. Manjhi is now ready for the floor test on the scheduled date.
