Former Odisha Minister Kalindi Behera passes away

Bhubaneswar, Feb 18: Senior BJD leader and former minister Kalindi Behera passed away at a private hospital here this morning. His nephew Parthasarathy Behera informed this.

Behera was 71. He was suffering from various ailments. He breathed his last at 7.30 am.

Chief minister Naveen Patnaik and all the leaders in the BJD have expressed their condolence over the death of the veteran leader.

He was elected to Assembly five times from Salepur and Cuttack Sadar. He had held important portfolios during late chief minister Biju Patnaik and the regime of Naveen Patnaik.

Behera was also a writer and author of several books.
