Bengaluru, Feb 18: The 10th India Aero show, the biggest air show of south Asia, was flagged off on Wednesday showing the country's air strength. The event was based on the theme "Make in India".
The aero show was opened by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Addressing the defence officers at the event, Modi said that the government is focusing on the development of defence industry with a mission and this is as a part of Make in India programme.
He said that the new defence industry will invite all the sectors including public, private and overseas firms. The government is working on to develop the manufacturing sector in India and this will help the defence industry to grow.
Modi said, we want to develop an industry that is dynamic and he is confident that India will emerge as a major global centre for defence industry.
India needs a strong defence industry that will make country more secure and more prosperous.
