Former Jharkhand CM Madhu Koda, 7 others get Bail in Coal Scam

New Delhi, Feb 18: In a huge relief to Former Jharkhand chief minister Madhu Koda, he was granted bail by a special Delhi court on Wednesday in connection with the coal block allocation scam.

Along with Koda, seven others including ex-Coal Secretary HC Gupta and ex-Jharkhand Chief Secretary Ashok Kumar Basu were also given bail by the court today.

However, the CBI had opposed their bail pleas. The agency alleged that accused had misused their positions to favour Vini Iron and Steel Udyog Ltd (VISUL) in a coal block allocation in Jharkhand.
