Cuttack, Feb 18: Now CCTV cameras will be watching the silver city of Odisha after the state capital. The Twin city commissionerate police will install the CCTV cameras to enhance the security system and to curb the crime.
Since Cuttack has been the hot bed of crime for decades, the CCTV cameras are expected to curb the criminal activities to some extent. The commissionerate police have prepared a blueprint to keep a vigil on the crime and the criminals.
The CCTV cameras will be monitored in a control room. On the trial basis, the cameras will be installed on the main streets of the city in the first phase. Later, the city will have the cameras as per the master plan by end of 2015. Welcoming the move, Odisha state transport department has given Rs 50 lakh for the camera installation in the city.
