Patna, Feb 19: The political crisis in Bihar took another turn a day before the floor test to decide the fate of chief minister Jitan Ram Manjhi. The Speaker Udai Narain Choudhary on Thursday nominated JD(U) leader Vijay Chaudhary as the Leader of Opposition replacing Nand Kishore Yadav of BJP.
The move sparked protests by the BJP MLAs outside the Speaker's chamber opposing the removal of the BJP leader as the leader of opposition.
CM Manjhi is directed to prove majority in the House on Friday. He seems confident that he will get the support from the JDU MLAs and the sources said that he is in talks with the BJP members to back him to stay in the power.
