Online Registration for Construction Labourers launched in Odisha

Bhubaneswar, Feb 19: In a significant development, the online registration for construction labourers working in different states has been launched in Odisha. This system will be executed in all the districts of the state in the coming days.

The online registration system was inaugurated by Prafulla Kumar Malik, Minister, Labour and Employees' State Insurance, Steel and Mines, on Thursday in the state capital.

Odisha is the first state to launch such special system to register the migrant labourers of Odisha working in different states of the country. This will cover the construction and other labourers under various social security schemes of the state government.

Around 30 lakh construction labourers are migrating to other states in search of jobs for their livelihood. This system will help them to claim their rights and get other benefits under the government schemes.
