Naveen's Convoy Attack: Commissionerate Police admits Intelligence Failure

Bhubaneswar, Feb 20: While the war of words began between the BJD and Congress supporters on the security breach of Odisha chief minister Naveen Patnaik following the egg hurling attempted at his convoy near Keshari cinema talkies during his visit to Utkal University yesterday, the Commissionerate police said that there was partially an intelligence failure.

Addressing to media, Twin city commissioner of police Dr RP Sharma said that there was intelligence failure as the security forces deployed on duty could not have information of the crowd and their plan.

The DGP has sought a report from the commissionerate police about the security breach of CM Naveen Patnaik.

Dr Sharma said that the investigation is on and they are trying to identify the miscreants on the video footage.

This is for the first time, Patnaik had to face the protests and anger of the youth Congress workers, who attempted to hurl eggs at his convoy and showed black flags while he was on his way to the Utkal University to attend a function on Thursday evening.

The protesters alleged Naveen of not working for the interest of youth and they are struggling for jobs to get their livelihood in the state.
