Rabi Nanda gets HC Notice over False Affidavit Case

Bhubaneswar, Feb 21: Trouble time began for former Odisha minister Rabi Narayan Nanda with the High Court notice served to him over a false affidavit case. He has been directed to reply to the court after a petition was filed by his political rival and senior congress leader Tara Prasad Bahinipati.

Bahinipati alleged that Nanda was scheduled to appear before the court as a witness in a case. However, he skipped that on the medical ground saying that he was advised by his doctor to have one-month rest. In his affidavit, the former minister said that he had lungs problem.

However, during those periods he was physically well and was seen with the chief minister Naveen Patnaik in several programmes.  The petitioner appealed to the court to take action against Nanda for filling a false affidavit in the court.
