New Delhi, Feb 23: The budget session of Parliament began with the President Pranab Mukherjee's joint address but Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi remained absent in the House. He has decided to skip the session and stay away from the agitation on the Land Acquisition ordinance.
BJP did not spare this opportunity to mock the Nehru-Gandhi scion saying the Congress leader is on leave to go for holiday during this budget session. Taking a dig at his absence, BJP MP Anurag Thakur said that for this reason people have thrown the Congress out.
Other political parties also questioned the seriousness of Rahul towards the issues raised by Congress and others as this is the crucial period to attack the Modi government and deliver their messages to the people.
While Congress leaders remained silent on the issue, party high command Sonia Gandhi defended Rahul saying he needs some time.
