Three More Sites added to Odisha Tourism

Bhubaneswar, Feb 23: In order to develop the tourism in Odisha, the state government has added three more places as the tourist destination. The new list comes with the inclusion of Eram (Bhadrak district), Tugu gudia (Balasore) and Mangala Peeth at Kanas (Puri district).

With this addition, the total number of tourist destinations in Odisha rose to 344, said Tourism and Culture minister Ashok Panda.

It can be noted that Eram has its significance to get the tourist destination status in the state. This place can be equated with Jallianwala Bagh of Punjab. This tells the story of bloodshed and massacre during the freedom struggle. The government makes a visit once a year to this place, which is called "Rakta Tirtha"
