Congress Leader Saluja, Two Associates attacked in Kantabanji

Bolangir, Feb 26: Senior Congress leader Santosh Singh Saluja, and his two associates were seriously hurt in an attack by some miscreants in Kantabanji today. The political motive and property dispute are suspected behind the attack.

The seriously injured former MLA Saluja was rushed to the Kantabanji hospital for the treatment. However, he was later shifted to the district headquarters hospital in Bolangir. He is out of danger now.

Talking to reporters briefly, Saluja alleged Kantabanji BJD MLA of plotting for the murderous attack that was carried out by his supporters. He said that entire conspiracy to kill him was planned by his close rival of the BJD MLA, who is now out of India.

He said that the MLA had openly threatened to attack him in presence of police few days back.

The incident took place when Saluja accompanied by his two associates including his cousin Amarjit Singh had visited Kantabanji over a dispute property matter. They were attacked by the miscreants with sharp weapons.
