Bangladeshi Blogger killed for Writing against Extremism

Dhaka, Feb 27: A Bangladeshi blogger was hacked to death by some miscreants for Anti-religious extremism write up. The victim Abhijit Roy was attacked in Dhaka while returning from a book fair with his wife, who is also in critical condition after the attack.

Roy, who was a strong believer of secularism, was in the target of the Islamist organisations for writing on the religious hardliners.

However, no arrest has been made so far. A local Islamist group commended the attack.

According to reports, Roy's family was threatened after his articles were published in Bengali language on the blog Mukto-mona.

He was second blogger, who was killed in the country for raising his voice against the Islamist hardliners. Earlier in 2013, another blogger Ahmed Rajib Haider was assassinated for writing on the Islamic groups.
