12-Hr Bandh observed in Kandhamal

Kandhamal, Feb 28: A 12-hour bandh called by the VHP in protest against restriction for VHP top brass Pravin Togadia's visit to Kandhamal was observed in the district today. The strike hit the normal life as all the commercial establishments, banks, government offices were closed.

The vehicles remained off the road. Even though, security was beefed up following the order of section 144 across the district, the bandh was total in the sensitive regions like Daringbadi and Raikia.

However, HSC Board examination went smoothly and the health services were not hit despite the strike as the VHP activists were instructed not to disrupt these works.
