ULB Polls to be held in Odisha on April 7

Bhubaneswar, March 04: Nine urban local bodies in Odisha will go to polls on April 7. The State Election Commission (SEC) announced the date yesterday here.

The elections will be held in nine urban local bodies (ULB) - Balimela, Sunabeda, Dharmagarh, Tusra, Daspalla, Ranpur, Redhakhol, Paradip and Belpahar - on April 7. The counting of the votes will take place on April 8.

With the announcement of polls date, the model code of conduct has been implemented in nine ULBs. The candidates will their nomination papers from March 16 to 19. The nominations can be withdrawn on March 26 by 3 pm. The SEC will publish the final list of candidates on March 26 by 5 pm.

The polls will be held in 198 booths. The polling will begin at 8 am. Around 1, 60,155 eligible voters will cast their votes on April 7.
