Misuse of DQ: Vigilance may raid BDA

Bhubaneswar, March 05: After the Cuttack Development Authority (CDA), the state vigilance may raid the Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA) office seeking files in connection with the plots and houses allotted under the discretionary quota between 1995 and 2014.

The BDA authorities said that they would cooperate the vigilance in the matter and will provide the files if sought for the investigation.

Confirming the report that the state vigilance is seeking files on the multiple allotments of plots and houses under DQ, the BDA said that they would provide the files, but the list is long. The section officers have been asked to find the files.

The vigilance began the probe into the misuse of the discretionary quota after the task force committee constituted by the Odisha government recommended a vigilance inquiry. The panel led by then Revenue and Disaster Management secretary Taradatt revealed the list that the top people from politics, administration and business have bought multiple plots and houses under the DQ.
