Former UP Minister DP Yadav sentenced to Life Imprisonment

Dehradun, March 10: Former Uttar Pradesh minister DP Yadav was sentenced to life imprisonment in the 1992 murder case of MLA Mahendra Singh Bhatti. Along with him, three others convicted in the case were also awarded the life imprisonment by the CBI special court in Dehradun today. 

Yesterday, Yadav had surrendered before the court. Earlier, the court had found four persons including Yadav guilty of murder. However, he avoided court appearance on medical grounds. Today, the verdict was pronounced against the culprits.

Yadav and three others including Karan Yadav, Pranit Bhati and Pal Singh were accused of killing Bhatti near Dadri railway station on September 13, 1992, in Ghaziabad.
