PM Modi lands in Seychelles, receives Warm Welcome by Indian Community

Victoria, March 11: Prime Minister Narendra Modi landed in Seychelles capital late Monday night during his three-nation trip. He was given a big warm welcome by the Indian community at the airport.

The trip could be seen as the most important for India to build strong relations with Indian Ocean island countries to augment securities and commerce.

Modi is the first PM to visit Seychelles in 33 years. His goal is to build good relations with the Indian Ocean island countries where China has already expanded its presence to take on India.

The PM will visit Mauritius on March 11-12 and Sri Lanka on 13-14 after Seychelles.
