Bomb Attack on Media Channel in Chennai, No Casualty

Chennai, March 12: Targeting media, two crude bombs were hurled at the office premises of a Tamil news channel Puthiya Thalaimurai in Chennai late night on Wednesday.

According to initial reports, four unidentified men belonging to a Hindu outfit dared to hurl the bombs packed in Tiffin boxes at around 3 am on Wednesday. The entire footage was captured on CCTV camera.

The video footage showed that four men came on two bikes and hurled the bombs at the office. No major casualty was reported, only one was injured in the attack.

Media report said that a Hindu Ilaignar Sena worker claimed the responsibility for the attack. He reportedly surrendered before the police soon after the incident.

The attack on the media house might have been the result of the protests that took place earlier against the channel over a debate show by Hindu Munani groups. Last Sunday, a cameraman and a staff were attacked by a mob outside the office.
