Pak Court orders Release of 26/11 mastermind Zakiur Rehman Lakhvi

New Delhi, March 13: In a major blow to Indian government, a Pakistani court on Friday ordered a release of 26/11 Mumbai attacks mastermind Zakiur Rehman Lakhvi terming his detention as "illegal".

Despite pressure from Indian government for the strong punishment to the banned Lashkar-e-Toiba operative, the verdict by the Pakistani court proved the softness attitude towards the terrorism.

Lakhvi is accused of conspiring and plotting for the 2008 Mumbai attacks.

Earlier, he was granted conditional bail by the Islamabad High Court on Dec 29, 2014 for which India had raised its voice by summoning the Pakistani envoy to India.

He is the most wanted terrorist of India that sought him since the deadly attacks in Mumbai where 166 people were killed and hundreds were injured.
