BBSR gears up for Rukuna Rath Yatra

Bhubaneswar, March 14: The state capital Bhubaneswar is gearing up for the famous Rukuna Rath yatra of Lord Lingaraj. The preparation for the smooth conduct of the event, which is scheduled on March 27, is almost completed.

On the preparation of the festival, the commissionerate police held a meeting, which was also attended by the Lingaraj temple administration, BMC, Fire brigade, health department and other organisations that play key roles during the event.

Around 15 platoons of police forces will be deployed for the mega event. Special arrangement will be done by the BMC for giving free drinking water to the devotees during the festival.

Rukuna Rath yatra is the festival of Lord Lingaraj, who visits Mausi Maa temple once a year on the day of Ashokastamee, just a day before Ram Navami.
