HC rejects Bail Plea of Preeti Bhatia in AT Chit Fund Scam

Cuttack, March 16: Giving no relief to Mumbai-based model Preeti Bhatia, the Orissa High Court on Monday rejected her bail plea in the multi-crore Artha Tatwa (AT) Group chit fund scam.

Bhatia was arrested by the CBI for his alleged links with AT Group CMD Pradeep Sethy, who duped thousands of depositors on promise of high returns in Odisha. She is currently lodged in Jharapada jail in Bhubaneswar.

Earlier, her bail application was denied by special CBI court and Khordha district and sessions court in the ponzi case.

On the other hand, the high court has released other accused like Ranjan Das, Pravat Tripathy on conditional bail in the AT chit fund case.
