Bhubaneswar, March 16: Odisha Assembly witnessed a huge uproar on Monday with the members of opposition parties over the question leak in the test for the constable recruitment in Odisha police.
The opposition members demanded a statement from the chief minister Naveen Patnaik on this issue. They also demanded an independent probe into the matter that led to the cancellation of the written test for the recruitment of constables yesterday.
After the House began in the morning, the opposition members rushed to the well demanding CM's reply and investigation by an independent agency into the leak of questions for the test.
Congress chief whip Tara Prasad Bahinipati climbed to the Speaker's dias and shouted slogans against the government. He was also backed by his colleagues. Speaker Niranjan Pujari had to adjourn the House till 3 pm after the members created ruckus.
The Speaker also asked the government to give its clarification on this issue in the afternoon.
Yesterday, the exam for the recruitment for the post of constables in Odisha police was cancelled after the questions were leaked. Director General of Police (DGP) Sanjiv Marik said that the questions were sold.
Around 40,000 candidates had applied for the post and they had to face a big disappointment after the exam was cancelled.
