AG pulls up Odisha Govt on Policy for Land Allotment

Bhubaneswar, March 17: The Accountant General of Odisha has pulled up the state government on its policy for the land allotment to the industries seeking a detailed report on which ground the Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (Idco) allotted the land some companies.

In a letter to Odisha chief secretary GC Pati, AG Amar Patnaik suggested the government for a transparent land policy for the allotment to the industries in the state.

Terming the land allotments by the Idco as discriminatory, Patnaik alleged it of showing favour to some companies.

He alleged that the Idco cancelled 714 applications out of 1245 giving no reason, and 72 were kept on hold for allotting land for industry purpose to the companies.

He said that the each application should be reviewed and scrutinised once again and the report should be submitted to the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of the Assembly.
