Sadhvi Prachi says Mahatma Gandhi was British Agent

Ghaziabad, March 19: VHP leader Sadhvi Prachi has triggered another controversy by making a statement on Mahatma Gandhi that he was a British agent and his contribution towards independence of India was negligible.

Sadhvi Prachi gave all the credits to Bhagat Singh, Chandra Shekhar Azad, Ram Prashad Bismil and Subhash Chandra Bose stating the country got freedom from the British rule due to the effort of these leaders.

Speaking on an occasion at a hotel in Ghaziabad on Wednesday, she said that the Gandhian way of protests did not give us freedom.

Earlier, former Press Council of India chairman Justice Markandey Katju was criticised for his negative statement on Gandhi.
