Family, BJP MPs demand CBI Probe into Death of Karnataka IAS Officer

Bengaluru, March 19: The Karnataka government is under pressure after the protesters demanded a CBI probe into the death of IAS officer DK Ravi. The voice was also heard outside the Parliament in the national capital.

The BJP MPs staged protest outside the parliament demanding the mysterious death case should be handed over to the CBI.

The victim's family sat on a dharna in front of the state assembly on Wednesday seeking justice. Ravi was found hanging from a ceiling fan at his apartment on Monday in Bengaluru. The police termed it a case of suicide.

Ravi was posted at the Commercial Tax department and was an obstruction for the sand mafia, real estate majors and the big jewellers, who had been evading taxes for years. He had raided at the offices of several firms.

While the demand is for the CBI probe into the case, the state government handed over the case to the CID of the state police for the investigation.
