Devotees to be deprived of Nabajoubana Darshan of Lord Jagannath in Puri

Puri, March 19: The devotees, who are eagerly waiting for the Nabakalebara of Lord Jagannath this year, will not be able to have Nabajoubana Darshan of the Trinity at the Shree Mandir a day before the World famous Rath Yatra.

As per the decision taken by the managing committee of the temple administration yesterday, the devotees will not be allowed to have darshan of the newly carved lords on the Ratna Bedi on the day of Nabajoubana Darshan on July 17. The event falls on the day before the Rath Yatra.

The decision has been taken to avoid the crowd and possible casualty inside the temple premises as lakhs of devotees are expected to come on that significant day to have glimpse of the newly carved idols of Lord Jagannath, Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra.

The decision might have upset the devotees. However, they can have divine darshan of their Lords on the chariots during Rath Yatra.
