HC stays Eviction in Malgodown Area in Cuttack

Cuttack, March 19: An interim stay order was issued on the eviction notice on the Malgodown in Cuttack after the traders moved the high court challenging the East Coast Railway (ECoR).

The notice was served to them by the ECoR to vacate the Malgodown area for the railway expansion work.

However, challenging the eviction notice, the traders had appealed to the high court seeking stay order on the notice.

While issuing stay order, the court also served noticed to the state government, the ECoR, and the district collector.

The railway had served the notice to the traders in the Malgodown area to vacate that by March 31 for the expansion of railway project at the railway station in Cuttack. The area is spread over 25 acres that the Railway requires for its work.
