Mines and Minerals Bill Passed in Rajya Sabha

New Delhi, March 20: The major bill mines and minerals development and regulation amendment bill, 2015 was passed in Rajya Sabha today. The bill will enhance transparency in the allocation of mines and minerals.

However, the Congress demanded to send the bill back to the select committee before the bill was cleared in the upper House. The left parties also opposed the bill.

Earlier, the Bill was passed in Lok Sabha to replace an ordinance on coal and mines brought by the NDA government.
