Case against Renuka Chowdhury for taking Rs 1.10 crore Bribe

Hyderabad, March 21: Congress MP and former union minister Renuka Chowdhury landed in a big trouble as she was booked for allegedly taking bribe of over Rs 1.10 crore from a tribal leader to give him a ticket for the assembly election.

Hyderabad Police have booked Chowdhury under the SC/ST Atrocities Act after the tribal leader's wife alleged that the Congress MP had promised her husband to give a ticket from Wyra for the assembly election held last year. She took over Rs 1.10 crore from them but did not keep her promise.

The complainant B Kalavati alleged that her husband died out of shock and huge debt that he had borrowed from others to give money to the then minister.
