Chakapada BDO marries Woman whom he had ditched

Kandhamal, March 21: The Block Development Officer (BDO) of Chakapada block in Kandhamal district, Sanat Kumar Nayak, who was absconding from the administration and the state women's commission, finally gave in and married the young woman with whom he had affairs for past three years.

This is the victory of the woman, who was ditched by the block administrator. The couple tied the knot at the sub-registrar office in the district headquarters in presence of the media and other officials this morning at 11 am.

The woman was looking happy to win the battle as Nayak accepted her as his wife. She had been fighting to get justice for last three days.

The BDO said that the misunderstanding between them has been sorted out and they will have a new innings. The marriage would be registered legally within a month. He was absconding after the woman brought allegation against him.

She was ditched by the officer with whom she had Physical relations for last three years. She alleged that the BDO had promised her to marry her. However, the OAS officer later betrayed her when she told him to marry her.

The woman, who is a government employee in Mayurbhanj district, later came to know that the officer will marry another girl. Holding patience, she lodged a complaint against Nayak with the Kandhamal SP and State Commission for Women (SCW), who discussed the matter with the district collector and the SP.

Nayak absconded after the issue came to light. The victim said that she will fight for the justice and will not leave the place. She wanted Nayak to accept her as his wife in public. If he will not come to front, she will sit on dharna in front of the office of the district collector.
