Sonia meets Farmers in Haryana, assures to Raise Issue with Govt

Rewari March 21: Congress President Sonia Gandhi on Saturday visited Haryana to assess the crop loss due to the unseasonal rains and hailstorm in the past two weeks. She also met the farmers and assured to take up the issue with the state government and the Centre.

Mrs Gandhi said that she will demand the government to provide compensation to the farmers whose crops were damaged due to the uncertain weather.

Her visit could be considered as an attempt to revive the party and make the farmers realise that Congress is the only party that stands by them during their crisis. After miserable defeats in both the Lok Sabha in the Centre and assembly polls in Haryana, Sonia is working hard and leaves no stone unturned to corner the BJP government on different issues including the controversial land bill.
