West Bengal Nun Gangrape Case: First Arrest Made by CID from Mumbai


Kolkata, March 26: In a major breakthrough in the gangrape case of a Nun in West Bengal, the CID on Thursday arrested a man from Mumbai. The accused was identified as Md Selim. He was brought to Kolkata for interrogation.

This is the first arrest in the sensational case. The CID could be able to catch the accused by tracing his cellphone details. The case had triggered outrage and protests after a 72-year-old Nun was gangraped at a school this month. A gang of robbers broke into a convent school near the town of Ranaghat in West Bengal and gangraped an old woman, whose condition is still critical.

Although, the case has been handed over to the CBI, the latest arrest will help the investigative agency to trace the hideout of other accused in the case.
