New Delhi, March 26: Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar met Prime Minister Narendra Modi today for the first time officially after the later assumed the office. He discussed several financial and developmental issues related to the state he represents.
Talking to media after meeting, Nitish said that he requested the PM to compensate for the financial loss due to 14th finance commission recommendations. He also appealed to continue giving the special assistance to Bihar under Backward Region Grants Fund (BRGF) and increase the funds.
He also raised the special status issue, which is the long standing demand from the JDU.
This was the first official meeting between the two leaders after a long time. Nitish, who is an active critic of Modi, was seen cool and not aggressive during the meeting at South Block.
