Govt launches Coal Project Monitoring Portal

New Delhi, March 26: The Union government launched an online coal projects monitoring portal to maintain transparency in all the big projects in India. The portal was unveiled by the minister Piyush Goyal on Thursday.

Attending an event, Goyal said, "This is the unique opportunity, where industry can send their problems, requests, problems in upcoming projects to the government and get the solution on the spot. So this interface between government and the industry. We will add coal India, state governments, who have suffered from coal allocation. In future coal allocation will be done in some states, who have coal plants. We developed an honest decision making process. Every work will be done by computers".

"Cooking coal has been something which India has in short supply. Certainly cooking coal continues to be imported in the country. The thermal coal in the country has increased nearly by 7% in all India", he said.
