E-Ration Card launched in Delhi

New Delhi, March 27: E-ration card was launched today in Delhi. This will facilitate the Delhi people to use their mobile phones to show their ration cards and get the wheat and rice from any ration shop on subsidy rate.

The facility was unveiled by chief minister Arvind Kejriwal. He said that his government will provide the e-ration cards to people who do not have Aadhar cards. The MLAs of the concerned constituencies will issue the cards. People having Aadhar cards can apply for the ration cards online.

In Delhi, 16-17 lakh people who have cards under the National Food Security Scheme that provides wheat at Rs 2 per kg, rice at Rs 3 per kg, coarse grains at Rs 1 per kg per month.
