Jharkhand: Two Maoists killed, Woman Rebel injured in Encounter

Latehar (Jharkhand), March 28: The security forces killed two Maoists and injured a woman rebel in an encounter in Latehar district of Jharkhand today.

The woman Maoist, who sustained injuries, was arrested and taken to a hospital for treatment.

Police said that at least 10 Maoists were hit with bullets, but managed to escape. The encounter began at 2 am and lasted till 4 am. Some rifles were recovered at the site.

"We got intelligence news that under the lead of Nakul, the Maoist Team was entering in this village. Cobra police and district police carried out the operation and killed the Maoists. Two Maoists have been killed. Forces have found blood spots at the site and we suspect several Maoists have been injured as well. A clear picture will emerge after the search operation concludes", said Ajay Linda, SP of Latehar.

"Rural people informed us that Naxal movement was going on in the village. So after the encounter we have found dead bodies of two Naxals and some rifles also. We will give full report after the search", said DIG Hemant Topo.
